Spinach Bread

Should make around 2 loaves.

Ingredients

1kg Bread Flour

400g wilted spinach leaves, steamed, drained well and chopped up finely

4 tsp yeast

2 tsp salt

650ml lukewarm water

1/2 cup olive oil

Method

1) In a jug place warm water, yeast, sugar, and oil. Mix and set aside until begins to foam.

2) In a separate bowl, place flour and salt. (Make sure the salt is mixed well and hidden as the salt may cause a chemical reaction with the yeast, stopping the yeast from activating.)

3) Once your wet mixture of yeast is ready and has bubbled and foamed up, pour into dry ingredients bowl.

4) Add steamed, well drained and finely chopped spinach to the bowl and combine well.

5) Knead mixture until forms a bread dough.

6) Set aside until risen double in size.

7) Once the dough is ready, knead again and place in the oven for 30 mins on 180°.

(HOT TIP: Remember not to open the oven until the bread is 100% cooked and golden in colour)

8) Serve and enjoy!
